1. HOG Pro High Velocity Fins - $109.95* -
Manufacture's Speal - The HOG Velocity Pro fins are designed to provide efficient propulsion, thanks to their semi-rigid blade and tapered tip, which maximizes the transfer of energy from the diver's leg to the blade. The blade is also angled at 22 degrees, which further enhances propulsion and reduces leg fatigue.
Author's Opinion - Comes equip with a bungee cord heel strap which is a must have for the serious diver. Comparable in quality and strength to the Quattro Plus Fins. Great for new and experienced divers. This is what I use.
2. Cressi Frog Plus Fins - $105.83*
Manufacture's Speal - The Cressi Frog Plus fins are designed with a patented blade design that maximizes propulsion while minimizing effort and leg fatigue. The fins feature a multi-material construction that combines a soft rubber foot pocket with a rigid blade, allowing for efficient power transfer and precise control in the water. Comes in less expensive version without the bungie cord strap on the heel. Bungie cords greatly improve easy of removing the fin.
Author's Opinion - Provided good propulsion, directional control and is comfortable to wear. Unfortunately, doesn't seem to hold up as long as other fins. The decorative inserts start to separate over time.
3. Mares Avanti Quattro Plus Fins – $189.95*
Manufacture's Speal - The Mares Avanti Quattro Plus fins use a four-channel design to optimize thrust and maneuverability, while the Aqua Lung Stratos 3 fins use a composite material to reduce weight while maintaining stiffness and durability.
Author's Opinion - Huge fan of the highlighter green color as it greatly increases the visibility any diver. Being seen in murky water is a good thing. FYI - Yellow, Pink, White and Orange are great colors in any fin and Blue, Grey and Black are horrible. You just disappear in the murk with dark colors. This is what my son uses. I got them for him when he was 14 and the color is hard to miss in the dark.
4. Aqua Lung Stratos 3 Fins - $120.00
Manufacture's Speal - The Aqua Lung Stratos 3 fins feature a dual-material blade design that combines a flexible, rubberized side panel with a stiffer, techno-polymer blade frame. This design maximizes propulsion while minimizing leg fatigue, allowing divers to cover greater distances with less effort.
Author's Opinion - This is more a snorkel fin but is a little stronger is you are dead set on getting a full foot fin. Personally like open heel fins and booties as they tend to be stronger and the bootie provided more heat retention.
5. Scuba Pro Jet Fins - $ 214.00
Manufacture's Speal - The Scuba Pro Jet Fins are a classic scuba fin that has been in use for decades. The fins feature a stiff rubber blade that provides excellent propulsion and control in the water, while the adjustable heel strap allows for a customized fit.
Author's Opinion - Great product and is a good choice for larger stronger people. They are very heavy and provides great propulsion because they are very stiff - you need strong legs or you will tire out. They will last forever.
6. HOG Jet Fins - $ 135.99
Manufacture's Speal - The HOG Jet Fins are a popular choice among scuba divers who want a durable and efficient fin that can handle a variety of diving conditions.
Author's Opinion - This are very similar in form and function to the Scuba Pro Jet Fins. Great for confined space diving and are very durable. Also like the Jet fins they stiff and meant for strong legs. ins:
7. Atomic Aquatics Split Fins - $ 229.95
Manufacture's Speal - The Atomic Aquatics Split Fins feature a split-blade design with a flexible hinge that allows for greater efficiency and reduced drag. The blade is made from a high-quality, lightweight material that is designed to provide excellent propulsion with minimal effort.
Author's Opinion - Like any split fin they are great for people with knee or hip problems but this is a love it or hate it fin. Try someone else's before you spend the money on them.
8, Tusa X-Pert Zoom Z3 Fins - $139.94
Manufacture's Speal - The Tusa X-Pert Zoom Z3 Fins feature a 3-material design, with a combination of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), polypropylene, and a reinforced center panel. The blade is designed to provide maximum propulsion with minimal effort, allowing for efficient movement through the water.
Author's Opinion - This split fin has a little bit more of an angle to it than the Atomic and may provide a little better propulsion. Again, spit fins are great for someone with accessibility issues but they feel a little weird to me. Your legs are kicking and you are moving forward but you don't feel like you are getting traction. Another try before you buy - Some people swear by these and some people want to burn 'em at the stake.
Dive Rite XT Fins - $175.00
Manufacture's Speal - The Dive Rite XT Fins feature a powerful, high-performance blade made from a durable polymer material. The blade is designed to provide excellent propulsion and maneuverability in all types of water co
Author's Opinion - A little old school for me and not in the "its a classic" kind of way. Not a huge fan of Stainless Steel Springs as they will rust in salt water. However, if maintained properly will probably last longer then neoprene bungies which can take a little more day to day abuse but will not last as long (if that makes sense.)ions.Not a
